Edna Marie Salyer Williams, 86, of Oil Springs, died Wednesday, April
10, at her residence.
 
Born March 11, 1927, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the
late Ollie George and Martha Jane Pelphrey Salyer.
 
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kendrick B. Williams; a
daughter, Aileen Williams; a brother, Vencil Salyer; a sister, Emma
Rowland; and a granddaughter.
 
Survivors include three sons, Eddie Michael Williams of Paintsville,
Kenny Williams of Inez and  Ronnie Williams of Salyersville; two
daughters, Charlene Arms of East Point and Diana Howard of Oil
Springs; four brothers, Clarence Salyer of Ashland, Louie Salyer of
Sunbury, Ohio, Winfred Salyer of Paintsville and George Paul Salyer of
Volga; three sisters, Anna Lee Barber and Orpha Mae Childers, both of
Paintsville, and Helen Keaton of Middlesboro; 10 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were Saturday, April 13, at Fishtrap United Baptist
Church, with Sam Reed, Danny Williams and Frankie Williams
officiating.
 
Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
