John Spendlove,
born 10 August
1816, in
Corby, Northampton, England, joined
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints in March of
1849. John and his
second wife, Maria Tole, his son
John and wife Mary (Davies), and son
William (age 18) sailed on the
“AMAZON” June 3, 1863 with
about 882 Saints. They arrived
at New York harbor July 14, 1863.
They took a ship to Albany, New
York, a train to St. Joseph, and
then proceeded up the river to
Florence, Nebraska. They departed
Florence Aug. 6, 1863 with Daniel D.
McArthur’s wagon train. They
arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah,
October 3, 1863. His sons, John and
William, and his daughters Emma and Mary
Elizabeth
settled with him in Virgin,
Washington, Utah.
Another son, Fredrick
Alfred settled in Hinckley, Millard,
Utah. More...

, immigrated in 1864 to Littleton,
Morgan County, Utah.

Hinton aboard ship, and arived at
New York harbor May 22, 1861.

died in
Southport, Qld,
Australia.

Rebecca born in 1825 stayed in
England. She married

1906. Her
