LYONS DAY - 2008  Warm, sunny weather was the setting for 91 people who gathered at the Golden Corral in Lakeland, Florida on February 20, 2008. It was a day to catch up with friends and families from Lyons, OH area. Larry Hutchison gave the blessing prior to enjoying the buffet lunch. Winter Haven, Florida One hundred twenty eight people gathered at Whistle Junction in Winterhaven, Florida on Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Each attendee has a connection with Lyons, OH as well as living or wintering in Florida. Carleton Reeves blessed the gathering with prayer and the celebration of friendship continued with a delicious buffet luncheon. The event culminated with renewal of old friendships and formation of many new acquaintances. Fond memories were reviewed and new memories made. Many expressed joy of anticipation for the next LYONS DAY in Florida on February 14, 2007. Plan to attend and bring a special person to celebrate Valentine's Day with us.

Winter Haven, Florida The Lyons group met Wednesday February 16th for our 15th annual get together at Ryans' in Winter Haven, Florida. We had 110 attending. Paul Teets led us in prayer prior to the "all you can eat buffet". The room filled with laughter & the buzz of conversation with friends old & new. Winter Haven, Florida Our Lyons group met Wednesday February 18th for our 14th annual get together at Ryans in Winter Haven, Florida. Every year it gets bigger and better. We had 114 attending. . We are already thinking of getting together for 2005. That will be February 16th which is the 3rd Wednesday of February as usual. Was exciting to see so many new ones. Carleton Reeves gave a very nice prayer in memory of Lud Seaman who passed away recently.. We miss him as he missed very few of our Lyons Days.. . Winter Haven, Florida The Group from Lyons met February 20th for their 12th annual Lyons Day at Ryans in Winter Haven, Florida We started meeting the 3rd Wednesday in February in 1994 and have kept that date since then. We had 77 gather this year to a fun day of greeting folks and seeing who was there. Lud Seaman gave a prayer before our meal. After we ate there was a lot of visiting before the group left for home looking forward to next year and getting together again This year we had 77 people attend Lyons Day and I counted up last night and from our list of last year there were 37 that didn't come this year that were here last year. So you can tell we had several new ones this year. It was good to have the new ones too. They were visiting Gaylord and JoAnn Hochstetler and expressed their feelings and Gaylord called around and asked the people to come to the Race Track at DeLeon Springs for a meal together. Those who attended were: Herb and Maxine Barnes, Merle and Mary Burroughs, Alvin and Ruth Gunn, Lloyd and Gladys Hinkle, Gaylord and JoAnn Hochstetler, Earl and Pat Mack., Harold and Helen Peebles, Lud and Sharon Seaman, and Francis and Fern Shaffer. The next year we had 41 and each year it grows.
