Ruth E. (BURKHOLDER) STONG 1920 - 2001 STONG RUTH E. Ruth Stong, 81, of Co. Rd. 14-2, Lyons, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2001, at The Toledo Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born on July 18, 1920, the daughter of Daniel and Erma (Rupp) Burkholder. In June of 1942, in Seward, OH, she married LaRay Stong, he survives. Ruth was a lifelong member of the East Chesterfield Church. She was a dedicated member of the church board and vary active in many dinners and activities at the church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and housewife. Her specialty was baking and caring for family and loved ones. Besides her husband of 59 years, LaRay, Ruth is survived by a son, Kevin (Jan) Stong of Lyons; 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Leslie, and a brother, Marlan Burkholder of Wauseon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Cheryle, in infancy. Graveside service for Ruth will be on Friday, November 23, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, MI, with Pastor Paul Sternisha officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the East Chesterfield Church or the Evergreen Athletic Boosters. Envelopes are available at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
