HERSHBERGER, George E. July 1, 1984 Services were held Wednesday for George E Hershberger, 58, Lyons, who died Sunday, July 1, 1984 at Flower Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Scalp Level, Penn., to Alfred and Evelyn (Frye). He graduated from Penn State University in 1951 and taught vocational agriculture for the past 33 years in the Lyons Evergreen school district. A World War II army veteran, he was a member of the Johnstown, Penn. Masonic Lodge, the magnolia Chapter of the Eastern Star, The Wauseon Elks, and the National Rifle Association. He was also a former republican central committeeman for Fulton County. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; a son, Kevin of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs Karen Spurgeon of Metamora; three brothers, Glenn, Nyle, both of Johnstown, Penn., and Donald of Erie, Penn; a sister, Mrs Kathyrn Dagney of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at Biehl-Malone Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Wise officiating. Burial was at Lyons Cemetry. ![]() Wauseon Republican, July 3, 1984 |
