A check of the "Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio in the War of the Rebellion, 1861-1866" found a listing for him with Co.G of the 80th O.V.I. as you indicated. He is listed as having mustered-in at the age of 20 on Feb. 29, 1864 and mustered-out on Aug. 13, 1865. Of additional interest, there were several other Miser family members in the same Company. John E. Miser (who was 20 when he mustered-in on Nov. 30, 1861), John W. Miser (who was 20 when he mustered-in on March 9, 1864), and Simon P. Miser (who was 18 when he mustered-in on Feb. 17, 1865). As I suggested before, you might consider sending to the National Archives for any pension file which might be helpful. The appropriate form can be obtained by writing the General Reference Branch (NNRG-P), National Archives and Records Administration, 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20408. I hope this information is of some help to you. If you think we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me.
