In the middle of the headstone for Jack and Janetta Meek you can see a small stone with
the name "Glen 1924-1925" on it.  Jack and Janetta have an infant son buried on the Meek
cemetery which is located on a high point behind the home.  Due to the difficulties of
getting to that cemetery and it's condition, they wanted this stone placed here as a
rememberance to Glen and as a reminder to never forget him.

**Mrs. Clarence Meek was so gracious in sharing many details of their family in order that
I could get this on the cemetery board.  A special thanks to a special lady who is going
through a very difficult time at this point in her life, the recent passing of her beloved
husband Clarence.

**SPECIAL NOTE.......I was taught by Mr. Clarence Meek back in the early sixties at Meade
Memorial.  He was an excellent educator and more importantly a model person.  Most of us
aren't perfect but not once in my lifetime have I EVER heard a negative comment about this
man.  It's extremely hard to find a person one can honestly say that about but this was
one of those people.  He was a devoted family man but the apple of his eye was his only
grandchild, Miranda Layne VanHoose.  Mr. Meek will be missed by all who knew him.
