Services Sunday For Resident Of Oil Springs
Mrs. Flossie R. Blanton Dies after Long Illness

Flossie Reed Blanton, 59, a lifelong resident of Oil Springs, passed
away in a local hospital at 7:40 pm, Friday, January 3, after an
illness of several years.

She was born October 22, 1898, at Oil Springs, the daughter of C. C.
and Risa Blanton Reed.

Mrs. Blanton was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

She was married May 16. 1916, to Claude Blanton.

Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Claude Blanton, Jr.,
Wheelersburg, Ky., Billie Joe Blanton, Bobbie Gene Blanton and Bradley
Bert, all of Oil Springs; four daughters, Amanda Cantrell, Oil
Springs; Ruie Cantrell, Oil Springs; Anna Gray, Hamilton, Ohio and
Neva Lee Bayes, Oil Springs and twenty-nine grandchildren.  Also two
brothers, James Reed, Oil Springs and Shellie Baldwin, Oil Spirngs.

Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of the Paintsville
Funeral Home at 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 5, with Claude Preston and
Lonza Reed as officiating ministers.

Music was furnished by the Toms Creek Quartet.

Burial was made in the family cemetery.
