Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 2 for Emma Curtis, 62,
who died Saturday, February 28 at her home in Oil Springs.

Elders Lonza Reed, Arnold Reed and J.T. Bailey officiated at the
services in the Low Gap United Baptist Church with burial in the
family cemetery at Oil Springs.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral
Home.

The daughter of the late Hansford and Lucina Fairchild Blanton, she
was born at Kenwood in Johnson County on March 7, 1907 and was
affiliated with the United Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Curtis; a son, Walter Curtis
Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Genevieve McCarty of Oil
Springs and Mable Long and Carol McCarty of Columbus, Ohio, a
brother, Lasco Blanton, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Blanton, both of Oil
Springs; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
