An automoblie accident proved fatal Saturday to Charles Ray May, 35,
widely known Van Lear man.

The accident occurried about 7:00 p.m. on Johns Creek near the
Philadelphia Church.

He was born in Carter County, August 4, 1924, a son of Glen and Hazel
Bowling May.

He was a miner and had spent virtually all his life at Van Lear.

He is survived by his wife Marie Josep May, two sons, William Lee May and
Charles Ray May Jr., one daughter Madeline May, all at home.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Clayton May and
Jackie May, Cleveland,Ohio; Glen Lee May Jr., Germany; Franklin May, Van
Lear; Mrs. Madeline Slone and Mrs.Shirley Young, Fairborn, Ohio;
Mrs.Lorene Wells, Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Betty Sue Barker, Fairborn, Ohio.

Funeral service were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, at the Van
Lear Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev.Scott Castle officiating.

Burial was in the Clevenger Cemetery at Van Lear.
