GLEN LEE MAY

Dies Thursday
 
Glen Lee May, 55, resident of Van Lear, died in a local hospital at
10:45 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 1958 after an illness of two years.

The son of James H. and Lilly Adams May, he was born October 28, 1902,
in Carter County. He had made his home at Van Lear for thirty-two
years, where he was employed as a miner.

Surviving are his widow, Hazel Bowling May; Five sons, Charles Ray,
Glen Lee May Jr., and Dennis F. May, all of Van Lear; Four sisters,
Mrs. Madeline Sloan, Fairborn, Ohio; Mrs. Lorain Willis, Dayton, Ohio;
Mrs. Hattie Barker, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Shirley Young, Dayton, Ohio.
Also surviving is a half brother, Charles May of Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 19, at 1:00 p.m., from
Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church with John Marshall and Moses Kitchen
as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Clevenger Cemetery at Van Lear.
