JUNE RICE
1904-1996

Retired teacher June Meade Rice, 91, died February 22,
1996, at her Staffordsville residence.

Mrs. Rice was born June 1, 1904, in Johnson county the
daughter of the late Fred and Lula Butler Meade.

She was a member of the First Church of God of
Lowmansville.

Surviving are her husband, Crate Rice; three sons,
Harold B. and Eugene C. Rice, both of Paintsville, and
Rev. Lowell C. Rice of Owingsville; two daughters, Alice
J. Wilcox of Greenville, Tennessee, and Janet England of
Centerville, Ohio; two sisters, Dottie Bailey of
Paintsville and Betty Burchett of Staffordsville; and 15
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 25, at
Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. Willard
Wilcox and Lowell C. Rice officiating.

Burial was in Meade Cemetery at Staffordsville. Her
grandsons served as pall bearers.
