1925-2001 Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Mary Katheryn Wells Schmitt, 76, who died Friday, May 4, 2001 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mr. Schmitt was born March 30, 1925, in Johnson County, to the late German C. and Cora Blair Wells. She was retired from Social Services. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Schmitt; and a brother, Ed Wells. Surviving are one son, Michael J. Schmitt of Paintsville; two daughters, Nancy Katheryn Tackett of Sitka and Ruth Roberts of Prestonsburg; one brother, Frank Wells of Flat Gap; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Bruce Nettleton officiating. Burial followed in Wells Family Cemetery at Williamsport. Paintsville Herald May 11 2001 |
