JAMES L SHORT
James L. Short, 50, brother of Leonard Short of this city, died in a
local hospital Sunday, following an illness of several years.
Born June 28, 1903 at Meally, he was the son of Fred and Louisa Akers
Short.
He was a resident of Williamsport at the time of his death. He was a
miner by occupation.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Preston Short, four brothers, Leonard
Short, city, Bill Short and Luster Short, both of Meally, Ed Short,
Ashland, four sisters; Mrs. Rosie Music, Drift, Mrs. Clara Lewis,
Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Pearlie Webb, city, and Mrs. Mary Lou
Powers, Meally.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Church of Christ at Meally
with the Rev. S.C. Honeycutt officiating.
Burial was made in the Preston Cemetery at Williamsport under the
direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
