MALVIE WARD
1884-1970

Malvie Wells Ward, 86, died suddenly on November 25 in her
Williamsport home. She was the daughter of the late Lafe and Polly
Ward Penix.

Her first and her second husbands, Willie G. Wells and W. A. Ward,
preceded her in death.

Immediate survivors include two sons, George C. Wells of Pikeville
and Chester Ward from Marion, Ind.; two step-sons, Charles M. Wells
of Paintsville and William S. Wells in Salem, Virginia; four
daughters, Mrs. Ed Short of Ashland, Mrs. Myrtle Ward of
Williamsport, Mrs. W. R. Jordon from Jenkins, and Mrs. Clarence
Howland of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Also surviving are four step-daughters, Mrs. Dan Wheeler and Miss
Sarah Wells of Paintsville, Miss Hazel Ward of Inez and Mrs. Jesse
Rowe from Prestonsburg; a sister in Inez, Mrs. Dave Ward; two
brothers, Richard Penix of Davisport and Shade Penix from Inez; 26
grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ward was a member of the United Baptist Church.

Services were held November 27 in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel
by the Rev. Frank Spillman.

Interment was in the Wells Cemetery at Williamsport, under the
direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Her grandsons served as
pallbearers.
