Myrtle Wells Ward, 72, died Tuesday, April 22, in Paintsville
Hospital after an extended illness.

Born in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Willie and Malvie
Penix Wells Ward.

She was a resident of Williamsport and a member of the Methodist
Church. Her husband, Jimmie Ward, preceded her in death April 25,
1978.

Surviving are two sons, W. D. Ward, Paintsville and Dave Ward,
Auxier; two daughters, Maggie Williams, Knoxville, TN and Betty Lou
Bailey, Norris, TN; four brothers, Charles M. Wells, Paintsville,
William S. Wells, Salem, VA, George C. Wells, Pikeville, and Chester
Ward, Marion, IN; and four sisters, Elizabeth Wheeler, Sara Wells and
Pearl Short, Paintsville, and Allie Jordan, Jenkins.

Also surviving are three half sisters, Hattie Howland, Cincinnati,
OH, Hester Rowe, Prestonsburg, and Hazel Ward, Inez; 10 grandchildren
and 2 great grandchildren. Rev. Fred Wiles officiated at services
Thursday, April 24, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Wells Cemetery, Boons Camp, with Jones- Preston Funeral
Home handling arrangements.
