LULA BAYES
1889-1963
Mrs. Lula Bayes, 74, resident of Oil Springs, died in a local
hospital at 10:20 pm, Tuesday May 14, after an illness of four
years.
A native of this county, she was born January 8, 1889, the
daughter of the late Jeff and Elizabeth Pennington. She was a
lifelong resident of Oil Springs where she was a member of the
Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Bayes; a son, Jessie Bayes,
Stockdale, Ohio; four daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Meade,
Wheelersburg; Alka Daniel, Tutor Key; Martha Bayes, Oil Springs;
Lois Adkins, Elk Fork; a brother, Buel LeMaster, Win; a sister,
Mrs. Sarah Ann Moore, Mt. Gillead, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 am, May 17, at the Low
Gap United Baptist Church with Lonza Reed as officiating minister.
Burial was in the Williams Cemetery.
