THOMAS MEADE
1902-1977
Thomas Meade, 74, died Friday, November 4, in St. Joseph’s Hospital
in Lexington.
Mr. Meade was born December 25, 1902 at Lacey, the son of the late
John and Mary Estep Meade. He was a resident of Silver Hill, a
retired carpenter and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearlie Wheeler Meade; five sons, Paul
Meade, Salyersville, Hoover Meade, Paintsville, Howard Meade, Edison,
OH, Charles Meade, Silver Hill and Lloyd Meade, Columbus, three
daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Williams, Ashland, Mrs. Helen Reed, Flat Gap
and Mrs. Jeanetta Sperry, Silver Hill. Also a brother, Georgie Meade,
Paintsville; three sisters, Mrs. Lura Conley and Mrs. Rouie Ealey,
Staffordsville and Mrs. Lennie Blanton, Jackson, OH; 22 grandchildren
and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 7, in the Staffordsville
Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends James Kelley Caudill and Lonza
Reed officiating.
Burial was in the Meade Cemetery at Staffordsville with Dunn and
Kelly Funeral Home handling arrangements.
