Pfc. Walter P. Williams Pfc. Walter P. Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, Win, Ky., was reported killed in Germany February 12 1945. Pfc. Williams was 23 years old and had been in service two years and two months. He had been overseas thirteen months and was serving with the Airborne Division when he was killed. He had seen action in the French Invasion, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was laid to rest in a ceremony somewhere in Belgium. He leaves to mourn his death, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Lee Williams, Mine Fork, Ky., four brothers and two sisters: Pvt. Kendrick B. Williams, U.S. Army serving in Holland, Pvt. Ashley Williams, U.S. Army, Camp Wolters, Texas, S 2-c Jas. Williams, Jr. U.S. Navy, Rhode Island, Langley Williams, Imogene Williams and Mrs. Ira Pendleton all of Win. The Purple Heart has been awarded Pfc. Williams posthumously.
