HEDGEL RAY NELSON
1934-1986
Marion, Ohio resident Hedgel Ray Nelson, 52, died July 7 at Marion
General Hospital.
Mr. Nelson was born June 30, 1934, in Johnson County, the son of
the late VENCIL and GEORGIA NELSON.
He was a welder for Marion Power and Shovel and a member of the
First Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Hampton Nelson; four sons, Richard
R. Nelson, of Oak Hill, OH; Randy and David W. Nelson, of Marion
and Bryan S. Nelson, U. S. Army, Germany; a daughter, Tasha Lee
Wright, of New Bloomington, OH; a brother, Vencil Nelson, of
Nashville, TN; three sisters, Marie Ross, Paintsville, Mary Ann
Vanhoose of California, and Blanche Castle, of Thealka; and four
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 10, in Thealka Freewill
Baptist Church with Revs. Don Fraley and Irvin Castle officiating.
Burial was in Castle Cemetery at Thealka with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
