Notes for William Karr PRICE
Aunt Nannie's notes: William Karr Price and Clara Williamson plus sons and daughters buried in Hornbeak Cem. They lived where Albert Porter farm is now. Earlier generation said he came from Ireland then to North Carolina and then to Tennessee.  He was said to speak with a brogue.

Lived in Rutherford Co., TN before moving to Gibson with his Williamson relatives. Clara's father, Ludowick Williamson died in Gibson 1840. In late 1830's they were all part of a wagon train that started out in NC picking up people in Rutherford Co,  headed for Texas or Missouri. When they got to Gibson County, the Wagon Masters wife took sick and died.  He was so upset he would not go any further. So they bought land in Gibson and settled down. Many moved over into Weakley in the mid 1850's....see Sharp/Coats files.

Store account for William Price in a/c by John L. Davis 1845 $32.57 (Gibson Co.)

We have not been suscessful in finding William Karr PRICE'S parents.

Inez says in her notes: Was William K. PRICE one of the Mecklenberg Co. NC line?  In Rutherford Co. his land ajoined that of Thomas PRICE.  Letter from a William K. PRICE of Giles Co. TN to his brother Isaac in Mecklenberg Co. NC mentions that Cousin Thomas PRICE has settled on Stone's River in Rutherford Co.[where is the letter, when was it dated? ] Thomas PRICE had 2 sons in the right age group for William K. to be a son --1820 census. William Karr Price  named a son Thomas, another was named John, Thomas' father's name.

The Williamson family descendants say ..father of Clara and Brothers moved to Gibson County in 1838/1839.

William Karr PRICE & Catharine listed on enrollment book #54 & 56 of Bethel Baptist Church, Shafter area of Weakley County (Greenfield) 1855 by letter April 1855 from Bluff Springs, Gibson Co. He lost by death Feb 1882, she lost by death 1880.

Notes for Catharine (Clara) A. WILLIAMSON
Clara listed on Weakley Co. 1880 deaths as follows: Clara PRICE married, 77 yrs, born VA, died March of bronchitis.

Clara Williamson's family moved from Rutherford Co., TN to Gibson. Many of her siblings raised their families in Gibson. Brother Beverly WILLIAMSON is noted for naming Milan, TN. Story goes surveyors for Railroad men came through the countyside, spotted him working in a field, asked him whose land were they on, he answered, "My Land".  They misunderstood and wrote it down as Milan.

Notes for William Edward (Billie) (Child 1)
1868 Weakley Tax List - W. E. Price 14 acres.

Inez Halchin notes says both Billie and Molley died of smallpox, also says birthdate for Betty may be incorrect. Also Will Price said that his parents died when he was 4 years old (1870).

Enrollment Book #98 & 99 of Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield, TN Billie & Molley joined by baptism 1869 lost by death 1870 for Billie; she listed as Mrs. Molley Price, wife of Billie Price, lost by death - no date.

Legal doc. dated March of 1870 says Mary Alice, wife of William E. still alive. Betty is not listed on doc. as one of the minor children. Maybe she was born in 1870 or maybe Jan of 1871. Betty is living with Featherstone's in 1880 census, listed as age 8 which can't be correct.

I found the William E. PRICE family on 1860 census with just dau. Mary Alice 8/12 of year old.  All 5 of the minor children living in 1880 census with COATS, ERVINS and FEATHERSTONE relatives.
