As you can tell, these pictures were taken on 2 different days! The flag was missing on the 2nd day we were at this cemetery, but the holder remained for George Snyder's flag.
Marietta Cemetery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania seems to be the final resting spot for all of Philip Leader's family. Philip and the rest of the family are buried in another site close by his daughter, Ella and her husband George E. Snyder, and the Snyder's daughter Dorothy and her husbandThese headstones are very simple. Ella's reads as follows:
ELLA R. SNYDER
1878 --- 1961
. . . and George's reads as follows: GEORGE E. SNYDER
CO. L 18th REG.
SPANISH AMERICAN WAR
1878 --- 1950
Dorothy's headstone is next and it reads as follows:
MOTHER
DOROTHY E. BOYLAND
Apr. 18, 1918 - Nov. 29, 1999
Richard's is the only upright headstone in the group. It appears to be the type issued by the Department of Defense and reads as follows:
RICHARD M.
BOYLAND
PVT.
US ARMY
WORLD WAR II
APR 27, 1916
JUL 4, 2002
