Welcome!

This site is devoted  to the genealogy of the Vogelsang, Loyd and the lineage of extended families.  We have lots of information on our families and would like to share our information so that we can find our cousins and "forgotten" lines.

If you are kin to any of the families featured on this site, please email us.  We are always looking for contributions such as photo's and family information to make every piece of information accurate.  All research are accumulations from family members and records.

All records are sourced to give proper credit to those who have worked so hard to help
future generations.  All information on living relatives are protected.  If you would like more information, please contact us.

- Clarissa & Marvin

How it all started...

Back in 2000 after we married, we started tracing our lineage.  We first decided to do this when I was just surfing the internet for people who had the same last name as me. Then I stumbled upon Rootsweb and Ancestry and found loads of information!  I was hooked and we ended up buying the Family Tree program to enter all our data.

The majority of information was handed down to us from family members who had been doing this for awhile.  I honestly did not know that anyone in my family was already researching nor did Marvin, my husband, know that there were family members doing the same thing.

In 2005, while I was searching for information I decided to put my knowledge and skill into helping people with The TXGenWeb Project, the Texas state project of The USGenWeb Project.  I have been a member of The USGenWeb Project since 2005 and currently maintain several websites in the GAGenWeb, OKGenWeb and TXGenWeb Projects.  If you have lineage in any of these counties, please email me to add information.

The following are county projects I maintain:

The GAGenWeb Project

The OKGenWeb Project

The TXGenWeb Project

TXGenWeb Towns

  • Local Coordinator Cameron
  • Local Coordinator Henrietta

The TX Tombstone Transcription Project

  • Former North East Regional File Manager

I am a history major and know that both genealogy and history go hand in hand together.  So, whenever I get the chance I take photos of historical markers, courthouse's, and anything that goes with history.  I also transcribe cemeteries when I get the chance.  To view some photographs and transcriptions of cemeteries please check out the links on the right hand side.

If you are kin to us, please drop us a line via email or our guestbook.  We hope to find long-lost cousins through this web page and share information to break down "brick walls".  Also, you can contribute to this site as well, just send in your photographs, lineages (no dates on living relatives, please), etc. and we will credit you with your hard work.
