William Anthony of Abergavenny.

In the name of God Amen I William Anthony of the town of Abergavenny in the County of Monmouth, yeoman, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) First I give and bequeath the interest of the sum of three hundred pounds unto my brother Abraham Anthony for and during the term of his natural life to be paid him by the executor of this my Will hereinafter named half yearly by equal portions and the first half yearly payment to be made at the end of six calendar months next after my decease and from and after the decease of my said brother I give and bequeath the sum of two hundred pounds part of the said sum of three hundred pounds unto his son John Anthony and the remaining one hundred pounds unto his son Benjamin Anthony to be respectively paid them with interest at the end of twelve months next after the death of their said father. Item I give and bequeath the following legacies to be paid by the executor of this my Will at the end of twelve calendar months after my decease vizt to my nephew Thomas Jones of Llangarren corder and hoopshaver the sum of forty pounds. To Evan and David Evan sons of William Evan now or late of the parish of Llangattock Crickhowell in the County of Brecon, labourer, the sum of twenty pounds a piece. To the three children of my said nephew John Anthony the sum of ten pounds a piece. To the eldest daughter of my said nephew Thomas Jones the sum of ten pounds. To John Harris eldest son of my kinsman John Harris of Govilon in the parish of Llanwenarth in the said County of Monmouth Gentleman the sum of ten pounds and to Mrs Elizabeth Edmunds a daughter of my said kinsman John Harris the like sum of ten pounds. To Joshua Lewis of the said parish of Llanwenarth farmer the sum of twenty pounds and to Elizabeth Bevan the wife of John Bevan of Abergavenny shoemaker the sum of twenty pounds. Item I also give and bequeath to William Jones of the said parish of Llanwenarth carpenter the sum of ten pounds to be paid him in such shares and proportions and at such times as the executor of this my Will shall in his discretion think fit. Item I give and bequeath to my said kinsman John Harris of Govilon the sum of one hundred pounds for the trouble he will have in the execution of this my Will and I also give and bequeath to him all the rest and residue of my personal estate goods and chattels and effects whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to the payment of my just debts the aforesaid legacys the expences of my funeral and charges of proving this my Will) for his own use and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said kinsman John Harris of Govilon executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke all former Will and Wills by me made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said William Anthony have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine.

30th January 1813. John Harris of Govilon near Abergavenny in the County of Monmouth the sole executor named in this Will was sworn to the truth thereof and to the faithful performance of the same and that the goods chattels & credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of eight hundred pounds before me Benj Hall, ..?

Proved at Landaff before the Chancellor on the 30th day of January 1813 on the oath of John Harris the sole exor
