GAROUTTE Samuel GAROUTTE, 9th child of Michael & Sophia Smith GAROUTTE, born in New Jersey, Apr 17, 1796, d. Sep 15, 1857; m. in Greene Co., TN to Jane REYNOLDS, b. Jul 17, 1803, d. Aug 15, 1887.  Samuel GAROUTTE lived in 
Gasconade Co., MO, before coming to Greene Co., MO.  He settled in Pond Creek Twp., Section 27.  According to the "History of Billings," by John Hutler, 1895, Samuel was the first settler in this area, 1836.  He settled 3 miles north of Billings with his wife and three children.  Second settler was Jeremiah M LANEY, m. Feb. 23, 1832 in TN, to Sophia McAFEE (dau. Of Archibald McAFEE and Bethia GAROUTTE, who was a sister to Samuel. 
Samuel GAROUTTE settled within 5 miles of his brothers, James Smith GAROUTTE, William D. GAROUTTE, and Anthony GAROUTTE, and remained there until his death.  Samuel, among dozens of his relatives and descendents, is 
buried in the "Blades Cemetery" 3 miles north of Billings. 
Primary locations include Greene Co. and Christian Co., Missouri between 
1836 to present.

I know little about the Huffs and next to nothing about Thomas Gipson except he had an older brother, Henry Gipson who married Ada's older sister Ethel Huff. Warren and his family, along with his father John, appear in the 1870 census in Concord, WI.  Sometime between 1870 and 1880 the family moved to Parksville, MO where Electa was listed as a widow and the only child living with her was Charles Elmer.
Warren was born in Central Square, Oswego Co., New York about 1834.  Electa was also born in New York State about 1842.
It's believed that Charles Elmer died near Joplin, MO after 1930.

They moved to Pickering, Ontario County, Canada in 1852. 3 more children were born there (Fredric, Ellen and Emeline. They then moved to Newfane, Niagara County, New York, where they stayed until the late 1860's. 2 more children were born there (Agness and Edward). Next they traveled to Hillsdale Michigan, where some of the elder children stayed. James and Mary Ann lived there until 1875. However, James, Mary Ann and the rest of their kids traveled on to Missouri and settled in Wheeling, Meadville and Chillicothe, in Livingston County. By 1900 James and Mary Ann resided in Laclede, in Linn County. James died in 1904 and Mary Ann in 1917."

GRAY born in Missouri 1869 to William and Julia Finney Gray. William and Louella had four children, at least three of the children were born in Vernon County Missouri. GREELEY Patrick Greeley (b March 1835 Ireland) m Bridget Nevill (b Feb 1835 Ireland) arrived in NY approx 1852. Moved to Scranton, PA in 1858. The families moved to St. Louis, MO about1880. Their children were: Thomas F (Mary Harn), Mary Ann (John J Haggerty), James Joseph, John P, Ellen (Joseph Lawler). Thomas’s son, James J Greeley, born Nov 14, 1882 married Lillian J Boody in St. Louis. They had 4 young children when he deserted the family and was never heard from again. I found him traveling from Panama Canal Zone in 1917. He appears working in a ship yard in 1918 in Hoboken, NJ, with a new family and 7 more children. He was killed in a car accident in 1924.
GREELING, Adam Lived in St. Charles county, MO in the 1850 census.  Then they both went into Illinois.  Jacob to Madison and Jersey counties and Adam to Cass county.  Trying to find the origin town in Germany from which they came.  In later census records they both show from Hesse-Darmstadt but I don't know which village.  I have a strong suspicion they came from Reinheim, Hessen but can't prove that.  Also I believe the name was changed from something else before they arrived in St. Charles.  Possible names could have been Greiling or Greuling.  Where would they have applied for naturalization?

He was b. 29 Sept 1850 Hanover, Germany, immigrated to America 1868 with his father and two brothers and supposedly lived in Iowa.  He married 11 Aug 1887 in Greene County MO a wilhelmine (Minnie) Booth, b 7 dec 1860 Berlin Germany, d. 19 Feb 1939 in Aurora, MO.  He died 25 Mar 1931.  They are both buried in the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora MO.  I am looking for family.

born 1837, TN, son of Ellis Crouch Gresham and Mahala Stouy (?). Samuel married Eliza A. Dick born June 20, 1839 in Wayne County, KY, daughter of Rufus K. Dick and Perlitha Ingram.  Samuel and Eliza married in Wayne County, KY.
They had at least three children, one being Rufus Gresham.  Samuel Gresham supposedly in Civil War, died in Gentryville, Missoui.  Eliza later moved to Pomona, CA, and died December 25, 1930.

Her father was Godred. Beatha was born 02/22/1843 in Prussia, Germany.  They had a daughter, Emma Frances who was born in 1874 in Missouri and another daughter Alice Eugenia who was born in Missouri in 1872.  About the year 1874, this family moved to Champaign Co., OH.  There were other children born to John and Beatha - Ida May, Jacob H., William Frederick, Charles Andrew, Effie M.  Ida May married James Isaac Barger 10/08/1902.  James Isaac and Ida May were my maternal grandparents. Don't have any information re: siblings of John Jacob or Beatha Sophia.
