POE | I'm looking for my paternal grandmother's family Brown,
Hambelton,
Harralson, Poe. Her father's name was James Columbus Poe
(b.09/26/1849,
d. 05/19/1913) and her mother's name was Sarrah Francis Harralson (b.
02/23/1857
d.08/05/1918). They were married on 10/25/1874 in Morrisville, Mo
according to family papers that I have, however that is not what is
shown
in the Marriages in Polk Co.Index, which shows her last name as Herald
and the wedding date as Nov.1, 1874. They had nine children,
eight
girls (of which my grandmother was one) and one boy. I know that they were living in Springfield, Mo. when my Grandmother was born in Oct 1883 and that one of her sisters (Arobell/Arabella) died there in 1959. |
POE, John A. | born Oct. 8, 1832, died August 29, 1928. He was married to Mary Catherine Leathers. Both are buried at Presbyterian cemetery, College Mound, Macon County, Mo. |

PREISINGER | Basil Julg was born in Obersasbach, Baden, Germany on June
14th, 1837
and died April 17, 1902 in St. Louis, Missouri. When German' s came over, the name Julg had two dots over the 'u'. Because this was not machine readable the name was Julg or Juelg. Basil Julg's marriage certificate states Julg. But when he served in the Civil War for the Union, his papers reflect Juelg, but Julg is referenced. (Illinois Civil War database) Basil's and his wife, Eleanora Preisinger, had 5 children. Two of the five where born in St. Louis, MO. Arthur Eugene Julg b. June 5, 1874 (My GGGrandfather) Emma Cecilia Julg b. November 22, 1879. Herman A. Julg b. July 1867 Peoria, IL |
