MRS. MARGARET ELDER
Mrs. Margaret Elder, of Ligonier township, widow of the late
Col. S. Elder, died last Friday morning, Aug. 17, 1906, of
stomach trouble aged about 90 years.
Funeral services were conducted by the
Rev. H.L. McMurray, pastor of the local Lutheran church,
assisted by Rev. W.H. Vincent, D.D., of
Allegheny City, as the pastor of the Presbyterian church,
of which she was a life-long member.
Rev. R.L. Smith was absent.
Interment in Valley cemetery.

MRS. MARGARET E. HUDSON
Last thursday morning, Oct. 4,  a telegram came to
Bell farm near Ligonier from San Francisco announcing the
death of Mrs. Margaret Elder Hudson, daughter of the
late Col. Samuel Elder, who died at the Santa Cruz sanitarium.
Her sainted mother was called up higher only seven weeks ago.
Truly whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.
She is survived by her husband and children and by the following brothers and
sisters: Mrs. R.C. Holliday, of New York; Mrs. Patrick, of Pittsburg;
Mrs. Hastings, of Philadelphia; John B. Elder, of Pittsburg; Samuel Elder,
Josephine Elder and Mrs. Anna V. Miller, of Ligonier.

MRS. ANNA V. MILLER
Mrs. Anna V. Miller, of Ligonier township,
died Aug. 7, 1912, of primary lateral
sclerosis after an illness of about two years,
aged 70 years, 10 months and 19 days.
Funeral was held Friday, Aug. 9.
Interment in Valley cemetery.
Services were held at her late home
near Bells station, conducted by Rev. C.E. Ludwig,
pastor of local Presbyterian church of which she was a member.
She was the widow of Dr. J.A. Miller, of Ligonier, deceased,
who died about 40 years ago.  She was the daughter of
Col. and Mrs. Samuel Elder both deceased, and is survived by
two brothers and two sisters.

MRS. MARY E. HASTINGS
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hastings, whose home was in Philadelphia,
died on Elder farm near Bells station one mile west of Ligonier,
on Friday, Sept. 12, 1912, of catarrh of the stomach, aged 75 years.
The remains were taken to Philadelphia where interment was made.
She was a daughter of Col. Samuel Elder, deceased, of Ligonier
township.

SAMUEL ELDER
  The remains of Samuel Elder, aged 83 years, a former resident
of the Ligonier Valley, whose death occurred at his home near
Greensburg Monday, arrived at the V.V. Gaskin funeral Home
Tuesday morning.  Services were conducted at the funeral Home
at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in charge of the Rev. D. Alan Martens,
pastor of the Presbyterian church.  Interment was made in the
Ligonier Valley cemetery.  Mr. Elders' home was near Bell's Station
when he resided in the Valley.  He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alice
Holliday, of Baltimore, Md., and a brother John of Pittsburgh.

OBITUARY
WILLIAM A. ELDER  [son of Joseph Elder, Jr. 1811-1868]
  William A. Elder, aged 77 years, a life-long resident of Ligonier Valley, died Saturday evening at his home on Fairfield street.  He had been in ill health for some time.
  He was born Sept. 14, 1854, on the old Elder farm, where he made his home for a number of years.  He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church.
   He is survived by his widow and the following children:  Mr. John Elder of Pittsburg, Mrs. Chas. Nicely of Ligonier, Mrs. Marshall Barron of Latrobe and Mrs. Howard Hamill of Washington, Pa.  Eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the Gaskin Funeral Parlors, in charge of Oscar W. Carlson, pastor of the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Interment in Valley cemetery.

Alexander died without heirs in 1884.
William also died and left his land to Margaret (she sells it).
