Note:
This Robert Walker arrived and settled in Fannet Twp., (Path
Valley), Franklin County, in 1767. He came
from a Scotch-Irish settlement
at Forks of the Brandywine in Chester Co. Parents are unkown. There is
also
an Alexander Walker who came
from the same locale to Fannet Twp. several years earlier and appear's
to be
Robert's uncle.
These early Walkers lived in
Fannet Twp., the same place where Mary Lowry(?) Thorn went after she
married Robert Elder. When
the children of this Robert Walker moved west to Indiana and Armstrong
counties during the 1780's
- 1790's, they sold their father's land to the Elders. Both this Robert
and our Jennet
Walker Thorn named two of their
children Robert and Margaret.
Two daughters of a Guthrie family
married two brothers of this Walker family about 1850-1860 in
neighboring Armstrong County.,
PA. The Guthrie girls are descended from the Guthrie's who along with
Joseph Thorn founded the Poke
Run Church. The Walker boys trace back to this Robert.

sale was acknowledged by Robert Walker's heirs, Oct. and Nov., 1810 from
Armstrong and Indiana Counties,
Penna.

ALEXANDER WALKER
Pioneer, with his wife Mary,
came from North Ireland in 1737, settled at the Forks of the Brandywine.
In
1761, they came to Path Valley
settling in what is now Metal Twp., at a big spring, where he, Alexander,
gave the land for the first
church and graveyard. He died May 1, 1775, his wife Mary having died Oct.
16,
1774. They had five sons: (1)
John mar. Miss McGuire and moved to Burnt Cabins. (2) James, an Indian
Captive, died 1788. (3) Robert,
unmar. died 1778. (4) David mar. Miss Elliott, moved to Burnt Cabins. (5)
Samuel mar. Mary Noble. From:
