D.E. ELDER of Pilot Point Dies

PILOT POINT, March 2--
D.E. ELDER, 82 resident of Pilot Point 30 years,
died Friday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. O.S. Thomas of
Dallas, following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at the local Methodist Church,
conducted by Rev. E. B. Jackson with burial in the Masonic cemetery.
Active pallbearers were fellow Masons:
J.E. Selz, R. L. Massey, G. B. Moffitt, C.L. Edwards, J.R. Jones
and F.W. Hayden.
Masonic rites were in charge of the local lodge,
with representatives from the Denton and Tioga groups assisting.
ELDER is survived by six children:
Mrs. Thomas, Dee ELDER of Pilot Point,
Francis ELDER of Trinidad,
Clark ELDER of South America,
Will ELDER of Cleveland, O.,
and Mrs. Lillian Bowman of Marfa.
He is also survived by two brothers,
T. J. ELDER of Decatur and
H.D. ELDER of Washington State,
and six grandchildren.

Carl ELDER, former resident of Pilot Point, died Friday in Aberdeen,
Washington. He had been in bad health for some time.
Elder was
about 40 years old.
Funeral services will be held in Pilot Point, probably Tuesday,
but
details have not been completed.
Surviving Elder in Pilot Point are his father, D.E. Elder,
a brother,
J.D. Elder and a sister, Mrs. O.S. Thomas. He is also survived
by
another sister, Mrs. Charles Boman of Marfa, and three other brothers,
Clark ELDER, now in Venezuela, Francis ELDER of Trinidad, and
Will ELDER of Cleveland, O.

Pilot Point, Feb. 25--
Funeral services were conducted from the R.J. Beck undertaking
parlors Wednesday afternoon for Carl ELDER, oldest son of Ed [Edgar]
ELDER, who died Thursday in Washington.
Services were in charge of
Rev. N.W. Oliver. The body arrived in Pilot Point Wednesday
morning.
Carl Elder was 50 years and 24 days old.
He is survived by his father, and the following brothers and sisters:
Will ELDER of Chicago, Clark ELDER of Venezuela.
Dee ELDER of Pilot Point, Mrs. Oliver Thomas of Pilot Point and
Mrs. Bowman of Marfa.
Pallbearers were F.W. Hayden, Donald Wilson, Earl Seliz, Joe B.
Burks,
George Fritz and Earl Ross of Denton.
