MRS. ANNA V. MILLER
Mrs. Anna V. Miller, of Ligonier township,
died Aug. 7, 1912, of primary lateral
sclerosis after an illness of about two years,
aged 70 years, 10 months and 19 days.
Funeral was held Friday, Aug. 9.
Interment in Valley cemetery.
Services were held at her late home
near Bells station, conducted by Rev. C.E. Ludwig,
pastor of local Presbyterian church of which she was a member.
She was the widow of Dr. J.A. Miller, of Ligonier, deceased,
who died about 40 years ago. She was the daughter of
Col. and Mrs. Samuel Elder both deceased, and is survived by
two brothers and two sisters.

MRS. MARY E. HASTINGS
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hastings, whose home was in Philadelphia,
died on Elder farm near Bells station one mile west of Ligonier,
on Friday, Sept. 12, 1912, of catarrh of the stomach, aged 75 years.
The remains were taken to Philadelphia where interment was made.
She was a daughter of Col. Samuel Elder, deceased, of Ligonier
township.

SAMUEL ELDER (Samuel Gillette ELDER, or Samuel Jr.)
The remains of Samuel Elder, aged 83 years, a former resident
of the Ligonier Valley, whose death occurred at his home near
Greensburg Monday, arrived at the V.V. Gaskin funeral Home
Tuesday morning. Services were conducted at the funeral Home
at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in charge of the Rev. D. Alan Martens,
pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the
Ligonier Valley cemetery. Mr. Elders' home was near Bell's
Station
when he resided in the Valley. He is survived by a sister,
Mrs. Alice
Holliday, of Baltimore, Md., and a brother John of Pittsburgh.

MISS JOSEPHINE ELDER
Miss Josephine Elder, a former resident of Ligonier township,
near the Ice Pond, died
at her home in Baltimore, Md., at an advanced age, according to
word reaching Ligonier
friends. Miss Elder moved from Ligonier many years ago and still
has relatives living in Ligonier
and vicinity.
