Raymond H. LENKNER, b.1892,
definitely is WW or the WW that occurred in the early 20th century
which has been renamed as WWI. He was born at 4506 Penn Ave but
I've never really followed him or his brother as neither ever
married. Ray was a butcher. I think he was in the Vet's
Hospital, IIRC, because I have his death as 06 Dec 1963, in
Aspinwall. He was buried 10 days later in Homewood Cemetery.
Walter E. LENKNER, IIRC but not
noted in my files, was a printer, in Homewood, I think. He was
born on Torley St in the Bloomfield/Garfield area. He, Raymond
and 2 other siblings seem to have moved around a bit, probably because
dad, Louis George Lenkner, was reputed to be "an awful drunk", told to
me by the wife of one of Louis' grandchildren. I guess that was
family lore. Walter also is buried in Homewood Cemetery.
The parents of these two are buried with some other Lenkners but with
or near her family, the Lists, in St Pete's on Lemington Ave.
