SULLIVAN / O'SULLIVAN
TERRE HAUTE /VIENCENNES INDIANA
EARLY 1900'S

I am looking for information regarding my Father, Eugene Victor Sullivan and his sister, Elizabeth Sullivan from the early 1900's Eugene was placed in an orphanage in Viencennes at about 5 years of age. Elizabeth was about 2 years older when she was placed in Saint Anns in Terre Haute. Children were told both parents were dead, but registry records indicate that at least the father was living at the time, although he might have been in a hospital. Their father's name was possibly Dan or Daniel. Have info on Eugene after grown and married but nothing on Elizabeth. I would appreciate any information.

Margaret McGoff/McGaff/McGough/McGeough
Ogdensburg, New York, USA
1862 to 1872

I am looking for any information regarding Margaret McGoff/McGaff. She was my great-great grandmother. Her story is that she, her parents and two brothers came over from Ireland during the potatoe famine. Her parents died enroute and she and her brothers were separated. The next listing I find regarding her is that she ended up in Ogdensburg, New York working as a servant for F.N. Burt who resided at 21 New York Avenue. He operated a tannery. The next notation regarding her is that she was married in Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg to a Joseph Robichaud in 1872. According to my grandmother her grandmother Margaret spent a lot of her life agonizing over the fate of her brothers who she never saw or heard from again. I am looking to see where Margaret and/or her brothers may have been placed being that they were orphans for her to end up in Ogdensburg. Margaret was young enough when her parents died that she didn't know the date of her birth and had trouble remembering her brother's names. Anyone with any information please contact me.

Gerson/Gersen
Brooklyn/New York City/New York, USA
1906 or 1910 to about 1928

I am looking for any information regarding my grandmother Irene Gerson (her mother's name was Olga Mary Marcus). Irene's mother died when she was very young she had a sister named Sally and their father left the children. The family decided to take in Sally but my grandmother was placed in an orphanage. At some point a Mary Eisner took her in to have her help around the house, etc., she had wanted to adopt her but the Marcus/Gerson (we are not sure which) would not allow her to be adopted. My grandmother told my mom and the rest of her family that she was born September 25, 1910 but my grandmother's social security information indicates her date of birth as 9/25/1906. Anyone with any information regarding Irene Gerson or her family please contact me as soon as possible! Thanks again!

HAZLEWOOD or HAZELWOOD
Louisiana Methodist Orphanage in Ruston, LA
1911-1918?

I am looking for information on my grandfather, Norman Hazlewood. He and a brother, Sidney and a sister, Ruth were left at the Methodist Orphange in Ruston, LA on Feb, 21, 1911. My grandfather did not ever tell us much about his life in the orphanage. I do know that the orphange paid for him to go to Louisiana Tech. His mother put the children in the orphange because her husband was accidentally killed and I guess she had no way to care for them. Any information would be helpful. I do believe the Orphange still exists but it may be under another name. Thanks in advance to any who respond.

Lacomb
Hibbing, Minnesota, St. Louis county
1919

I'm looking for some information on the son of Marie Lacomb and John Larson. Their son was born on December 11, 1919 in Adams Hospital located in Hibbing, MN. I'm guessing that Marie gave her son up for adoption or left him some where, because she was an unwed mother. Plus he was not listed with her in the 1920 census. When she had my grandfather she had listed having two children and two were still living. I'm thinking she might have gave her son to some one to be rasied. Any help would be wonderful.

Illinois - Barrington area

My grandfather, Charles Fred Eller, said he was raised in an orphanage or foster care after his parents died. He was born in 1892 in Barrington, Illinois but never gave any specifics. He never talked about the past. Charles thought he had several older siblings but didn't know their names. He also thought his parents were John and Rena Eller.

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HULL
KENT COUNTY, MD. near ROCK HALL
18?? till 1888 or1889

Seeking info. about BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HULL, my husband's grandfather. He was an orphan, raised by WILLIAM and ELLIE THOMAS on a plantation in KENT COUNTY, MD. near ROCK HALL, MD. The 1880 MARYLAND census shows he was 7 years old in 1880 in the home of the THOMAS family, and that he was born in PENNSYLVANIA. The story that has been passed down is that his mother died in childbirth and that his father had died before he was born. At age 17 he was sent to Omaha, Nebraska, to work. He was married to MARIE FITZPATRICK from Churdan, Iowa about 1900. He died in Omaha in 1957. Who were his parents? What connection did he have with the THOMAS family? Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.
