Sailed Gravesend 5th October after embarking the English contingent of Pensioners. Travelled to Ireland and  left Belfast  25th December 1847 arriving in Auckland 16th May 1848

Ann was the 6th Detachment under the Command of Lieut John Annesley

(The bulk of the Irish Pensioners mostly being from Northern Ireland embarked late October)
On the way down the Irish channel, the ship touched the Arklow Bank, but was not damaged but as a consequence,  land was not cleared until January 7th 1848. A five day stop was made at the Cape of Good Hope, departing 18th March finally arriving  Auckland 16th May 1848.  An epedemic of influenza caused 12 deaths during the voyage.
