Ayres, W.F.
W.F. "Bill" Ayres, a resident of Versailles the
past 20 years and a brother of TM. and Draper Ayres of Versailles,
died
unexpectedly of a heart attack Tuesday while tending his stock in a
feed lot located in the east part of town. Arthur M. Ayres had been
afflicted with a troublesome heart for some time, his condition was no
worse than usual, and his death came as a terrible shock to members of
his family. Persons living in the neighborhood of the feed lot noticed
Mr. Ayres car had been parked there longer than usual and when they went
to investi gate, they found his body.
Wm. Franklin Ayres, son of Ben and Mary Ayres was
born in Camden county, MO November 12, 1875. At the
time of his death he was 74 years, 10 months, and 1 day old.
Survived by his wife Sylvia, daughter Billie Ellen, two brothers, T.N.
and Draper, neices and nephews. During his residence in Versilles
he had worked as a bookkeeper and more recemtly had been the local representative
of a number of insurance companies. In the city election last spring
he was elected Police Judge. Funeral services were held at Christian
Church with the Rev. J.L. Freeman officiating. Masonic order wil
conduct graveside services.
