Baker, Nicholas Peter

     Baker, Nicholas Peter  Nicholas Peter "Uncle Nick" Baker died August 18, ____.  He was born January 16, 1863 in Holland. He came to the United States i 1888 and spent the first 20 years in Illinois and Indiana.  He
came to Versailles about 40 years ago.  He married Lucy Ellen Handy on December 24, 1907.  She preceded him in death in 1942.  He is survived by two step-daughters: Mrs. W.M. Otten and Mrs. C.M. Carter of
Salisbury; one step-grandaughter: Mrs. Dale Dean of Holt's Summit; one Nephew: Henry Baker, who for more than a year has been a patient at the Veterans Hospital in Wadsworth Kansas.
   Services were held at the First Baptist Church with the Dr. Alex Best officiating  Hymns by: Mrs. Robert Stockton and Mrs Ray Berkstresser - piano: Miss Beth Francis.  Interment in the Versailles cenetery under
the driection of Scrivner's Funeral Home.
