We Edward H. CRAIG and Mary Ann CRAIG his wife for and in consideration of the sum of seventy-five dollars to us paid, have this day granted, bargained and sold unto James G. CRAIG and his heirs forever the following described tract or parcel of land, to wit.
The South East quarter of the South West quarter of section no eleven Township no sixteen South of Range no thirty-two West of the fifth principal meridian making forty acres lying and being in the County of Washington in the State of Arkansas,

Know all men by these presents that I John Sumner CLARY of the State of Arkansas in the County of Washington in consideration of four hundred and seventy five dollars to me paid by Samuel Stonecipher CRAIG of the State of Arkansas in the County of Washington the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Samuel S. CRAIG and heirs a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the State and County aforesaid bounded and described as follows (to wit).
The south half of the north west quarter of section twenty two in township sixteen north of range thirty two west containing eighty acres. Also the west half of the south west quarter of section twenty two in township sixteen north of range thirty-two west containing eighty acres. Also a fraction of the north east quarter of the south west quarter of section twenty-two township sixteen north of range thirty two west commencing at the north east corner of an entry made by John S. CLARY containing eighty acres and running east eighty poles to ASHER's corner then south eighteen poles to a bluff then west with the bluff to a spring in the bank of the creek at the mouth of the first hollow up the bluff then up the hollow south, supposed to contain fifteen acres,
with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises to the said Samuel S. CRAIG and his heirs in fee simple forever and the said John S. CLARY for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators do covenant with the said Samuel S. CRAIG and his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully (seized?) in (fee?) of the aforegranted premises, that they are free from all encumbrances, that I have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Samuel S. CRAIG as aforesaid and that I will and my heirs and executioners and administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said Samuel S. CRAIG and his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. And for the consideration of aforesaid and for divers other good and valuable considerations, I Sally CLARY wife of said John S. CLARY do hereby release and quit claim unto the said Samuel S. CRAIG his heirs and assigns all my right claim or possibility of dower in or out of the afore described premises. In testimony whereof we the said John S. I Samuel S. CRAIG for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and seventy five dollars to me paid have this day granted bargained and sold to Edward H. CRAIG and his heirs forever the following described tract or parcel of land to wit.
The south half of the North West quarter of Section twenty two in Township Sixteen North of Range thirty-two West containing eighty acres. Also the West half of the South West quarter of section twenty two in Township Sixteen North or Range thirty two West containing eighty acres. Also a fraction of the North East quarter of the South West quarter of section twenty two Township sixteen North of Range thirty two West commencing at the North East corner of an entry made by John S. CLARY containing eighty acres and running East eighty paces to Ashers Inn then South eighteen poles to a bluff then West with the bluff to a spring in the banks of the creek at the mouth of the first hollow, up the bluff then up the hollow South. Supposed to contain fifteen acres lying and being in the county of Washington in the State of Arkansas

CLARY in the State of Arkansas county of Washington (Forever) In receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby convey, remise, release, and forever quit claim unto the said Jefferson H. CLARY and his heirs all that tract or parcel of land situated in the state of Arkansas and county of Washington bounded and described as follows. Is
a fraction of the west half of the south west quarter of section thirty two township sixteen north of range thirty two west, commencing at the south west corner running north to the acclivity of a bluff on the south side of the branch commencing with Jesse JORDON's corner thence eastwardly with the acclivity of said bluff to the sixteen(?) section of the east boundary line of the west half of the above described boundary, ........ said line to the south boundary line of said section then west to the beginning containing sixty-five acres more or less. Also a fraction of the north east quarter of the south west quarter of section twenty two township sixteen north of range thirty two west commencing at its south west corner of the north east quarter of the South west quarter running north of the acclivity of the bluff in the south side of the branch, thence with the acclivity of said bluff eastwardly to corner(?) CLARY's Spring on the south side of the branch, thence southwardly on section with a branch with south boundary line of said quarter. Thence west to the beginning containing five acres more or less.
To have and to hold the abovedescribed premises to the said Jefferson H. CLARY and his heirs to his and their uses and behoove forever. And I said Edward H. CRAIG for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators so covenant with the said Jefferson H. CLARY his heirs and assigns that the premises are free from all encumbrances known or suffered by me and that I will and my heirs, executors, and administrators shall warrant and defend the same of the said Jefferson H. CLARY his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. And I Mary A. CRAIG wife of Edward H. CRAIG for the consideration aforesaid and for divers other good and valuable considerations do hereby convey, remise, release and forever quit claim with the said Jefferson H. CLARY, his heirs, and assigns forever all against ...(?)or possibility of dower in or out of the aforedescribed premises. In witness whereof with said Edward H. CRAIG and Mary A. CRAIG of the State of Arkansas in the county of Washington in consideration of six hundred dollars to me paid by Jesse JORDON of the State and County aforesaid, Farmer (?), the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby convey, remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said Jesse JORDON and his heirs all that tract or parcel of land situated in the State of Arkansas and County aforesaid bounded and described as follows (viz)
the south half of the northwest quarter of section twenty two in township sixteen north of range thirty two west, containing eighty acres.  
Also, 
a fraction of the north half of the south west quarter of section twenty two in township sixteen north of range thirty two west, commencing at the north west corner of the south west quarter running east one hundred and sixty poles to ASHER's corner thence south eighteen poles to the bluff on the south side of the branch, thence meandering westwardly to the section line adjoining the land of William CRAWFORD thence north to the beginning, containing twenty five acres more or less,
with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging. To have and to hold the abovereleased premises to the said Jesse JORDON and his heirs to his and their uses and behoof forever. And I the said Edward H. CRAIG for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators do covenant with the said Jesse JORDON his heirs and assigns that the premises are free from all encumbrances made as suffered by me and I will and my heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said Jesse JORDON his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons and for the consideration aforesaid and for diverse other good and valuable considerations. I Mary A. CRAIG wife of the said Edward H. CRAIG do hereby release and quit claim unto the said Jesse JORDON his heirs or assigns all my right or claim or possibility of dower in or out of the aforedescribed premises. Comes America CRAIG widow and administratrix of the estate of decd late of Washington County and represents to the Court h..here that the said James G. CRAIG decd was during his lifetime one of the securities upon the Guardian Bond of Stokley D.M. WILSON guardian of Michael ASHER, William ASHER, Elizabeth ASHER, Mary ASHER, John ASHER, minor heirs of ...............(?) ASHER decd and pray the Court here for a rule against the said Stokely D. M. Wilson signing him to give additional security in lieu of the said James G. CRAIG so as to release said adminstratrix from all liability upon said bond. It is therefore ordained by the Court that the said Stokley D.M. WILSON shall on or before the first day of the next term of this Court give additional security upon said guardian bond in lieu of said James G. CRAIG decd so as to release the estate of said decd from all liability on said bond.

Comes now on this day America CRAIG as the administratix of the estate of James CRAIG decd and having at a former term of this Court filed her account current for settlement and no exceptions having been filed thereto or any item thereof, the Court after a careful examination of said account finds that said administratrix has still in her hands the sum of $552.39. It is therefore considered by the Court that said account be allowed confirmed and entered of record.

America CRAIG Petitioner vs. Petition for Dower Thomas F. WELDEN & Ellen WELDEN his wife William M. CRAIG, Mary CRAIG Elizabeth CRAIG, George W. CRAIG John CRAIG, James CRAIG, Caleb CRAIG and Nancy CRAIG Defendants Now on this day there comes on to be heard and the said petitioner alleges that the said complainant is the widow of James G. CRAIG deceased, and the said deceased died without a will leaving the following heirs surviving to wit, Thomas F. WELDEN and his wife Ellen WELDEN, William M. CRAIG, and Mary CRAIG Elizabeth CRAIG George W. CRAIG John CRAIG James CRAIG Caleb CRAIG and Nancy CRAIG who are all minors except the three first mentioned, and on all prayed to be made defendants to this bill, whereupon on motion it is ordered by the court that Matthew(?) Duke be and he is hereby appointed guardian a.... for the purpose of defending said minors herein whereupon the said Duke filed here in court his answer to said complainants bill, admitting as far as he is advised the correctness of the allegations as set forth in complainants petition, and the said Thomas F. Weldon and Ellen Weldon his wife and William M. CRAIG although duly served with process comes not but herein whoby (?) makes default whereby this action remains undefended by them. It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the court th... all and de.... the allegations in said petitions be taken as confused and the court being satisfied upon an examination that dower should be assigned and laid off in accordance with the prayer of said petition it is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the court that the said America CRAIG do have ... .... of and from the said defendants as her dower in the estate of said James G. CRAIG deceased the one third part of the following described land, to wit,
the S.E.1/4 of the S.W.1/4 of Section two in Township No. [sic] North of Range 32 West, the N.E.1/4 of the N.W.1/4 all in Section Eleven Township Sixteen N. of Range 32 West, including the mansion house
to have and to hold during her natural life. An it is further ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that the said America CRAIG do have and recover of and from the said defendants the one third part of the personal estate of which the said James G. CRAIG decd signed (??) and possessed, absolutely in her own rights and that she have and recover all her ..... in this behalf laid out and expanded. And it is further ordered by the court that Jonathan NEWMAN and William W. BROWNLEE and Shelton LUTTRELL be (??) and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to lay off and assign to the said America CRAIG dower in the land herein mentioned in accordance with the decree of this Court herein ..... and make their report to the next term of this Court.

And now on this day comes Jonathan NEWMAN and W.W. BROWNLEE commissioners appointed to assign dower to America CRAIG, the widow of James G. CRAIG decd. and make report that on the 24th day of January AD 1862 they procured to assign and lay off dower to the said America CRAIG as follows:
the North West quarter of the North East quarter of Section eleven, in Township sixteen, North of Range thirty-two West, and thirteen and one third acres off of the North East corner of the North East quarter of the Northwest quarter of the same Section Township and Range, including all the dwelling house and other buildings, making in the aggregate fifty three and one third acres
together with the one third part of the personal estate, the amount of the personal estate to said commissioners unknown: It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed that the said report be and the same is hereby confirmed and further ordered that said real estate vest in the said America CRAIG, for and during her natural life.

We W.P. BARCLAY and Rebecca BARCLAY his wife have this day bargained, sold and delivered unto S.A. CRAIG for the sum of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid by the said S.A. CRAIG the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and they the said W.P. BARCLAY and Rebecca BARCLAY his wife do forever warrant and defend the title of the following described tract or parcel of land unto the said S.A. CRAIG and his heirs the land described as follows
designated on the plan of the TOWN of Jacksonville now known as the Town of Cincinnati beginning on Main Street one foot North of the North East corner of Lot No. three Block No. five running North with Main Street twenty-four feet, then running back a South West course to the line bounding the East half of the South West quarter of Section No. 29 Township 16 North of Range 33 West-said lot being twenty four feet wide at the point of intersection with [sic].

Know all men by these presents that we William M. CRAIG and Mary CRAIG his wife, Thomas F. WELDON and Elizabeth WELDON his wife, and George W. CRAIG of the county of Washington and State of Arkansas for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid by James PHIPPS and Thomas J. PHIPPS of the same count and state do hereby bargain and sell and by these presents transfer and convey unto the said James PHIPPS and Thomas J. PHIPPS their heirs and assigns forever our undivided interest as heirs at law of James G. CRAIG decd, it being as follows, to wit: Thomas WELDON has one ninth and William M. CRAIG has two ninths, and George W. CRAIG has one ninth interest in the following described parcel or tract of land, and which is hereby conveyed, to wit:
the southwest quarter of the north east quarter, and the north east quarter of the north west quarter, ant the north west quarter of the north east quarter of section eleven in township sixteen north of range thirty-two west. And the south east quarter of the south west quarter of section two in township sixteen north of range thirty-two west, all situated in the county of Washington and state of Arkansas.
To have and to hold our undivided interest as above stated to them the said James  PHIPPS and Thomas J. PHIPPS their heirs and assigns forever, and we hereby warrant the title t our interests as stated from ourselves our heirs and assigns to all persons claiming by or under us, and we covenant to and with the said James PHIPPS and Thomas J. PHIPPS that we are lawfully seized and possessed of the undivided interests in the above described land, as stated above, and have a good right to sell and convey the same. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 6th day of December 1867.

This indenture made the 30 day of August A.D. 1867, by and between Thomas H. WELDEN guardian of William M. WELDEN, Mary E. WELDEN and Francis WELDEN all of Washington County in the State of Arkansas party of the first part and William M. CRAIG of the same county party of the second part, Witnesses that the said party of the first part was on the 28th day of August 1867, by the Probate Court of Washington County appointed guardian of the said William M. Mary E. and Francis WELDEN with power to dispose sell and convey, on such terms and at public or private sale as might to him seem best the undivided one ninth interest of said minors William M. Mary E. and Francis in the estate of the late James J. CRAIG known and described as follows, to wit:
the North East qr. and the South West Qr. of the North East qr. and the North East qr. of the North West qr. of Section eleven (11) in Township sixteen (16) North of Range thirty two (32) West, And the South East qr.of the South West qr. of Section two (2) in Township sixteen (16) North of Range thirty two (32) West, all lying and being in the County of Washington aforesaid.
And that the said party of the first part--as guardian of the minors aforesaid has on this day for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to us in hand paid-the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged-granted bargained sold quit-claimed transferred and released and by these presents does as such guardian grant bargain sell quitclaim transfer, remise and release unto the said party of the second part, all the right title claim and possibility of claim vested or to be vested of said minors William M. Mary E. and Francis in and to said above described lands. To have and to hold unto the said party of the second part his heirs executors and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal as such guardian the day and year first above written.

CRAIG and Sarah A. his wife of the town of Cincinnati County of Washington and State of Arkansas for and in consideration of the sum of forty five dollars to our hand paid have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and sell [sic] and convey unto John CARNAHAN of the said County and State the following piece of land
Beginning at a take(??) eight one feet West of Main Street. Thence two hundred and ninety four feet (294) to a stone Westwardly thence Southwardly twenty four feet (24) to the North West corner of Neals (??) Lot, thence two hundred and ninety six (296) feet Southwardly to the South West corner of 5.B Mason's (??) Lot that his new store house stands on thence twenty four (24) feet to the beginning in the Town of Cincinnati being situated in the East half of the South West quarter of Section twenty nine Township Sixteen North of Range Thirty three West ,
with all the right title interest or demand of us or either of us therein or thereon in fee simple forever to the said John CARNAHAN his heirs and assigns and we do convenant to and with the said John CARNAHAN binding our selves and our heirs to warrant and defend the title of the said lot to the said John CARNAHAN his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all persons whatever. Know all men by these presents that we S.A. CRAIG and Sarah A. CRAIG for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and sixty five dollars to us in hand paid by W.P. PATTERSON have this day granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said [sic] Patterson his heirs and assigns the following described tract or parcel of land, to wit:
Beginning at the North East corner of the North East quarter of the South West quarter of Section twenty nine township Sixteen North of Range thirty three West, thence South thirty poles to a stone, thence North 7°00' West thirty-seven poles and ninety links to a stone, thence East twenty one poles to the place of beginning containing four acres more or less,
to have and to hold the above released premises to the said W.P. PATTERSON his heirs and assigns to their use and benefit forever. And we the said S.A. CRAIG and Sarah A. CRAIG do bind ourselves and our heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title of said land against the lawful claims and demands of all persons.
