*any relation to Solomon Abeles, who founded cutting and glove-making workshops in Dobříš in 1865, introducing new kind of trade to the location. Before long the sewing of gloves spread to Hostomice, Příbram and Rožmitál and members of the local aristocracy were the first customers. With the exception of war years, glove-making thrived in the area, providing jobs to some 5,000 people.
