The American
Carstarphen's
One of the
earliest of the American branches of the Carstarphen family started when
Robert Carstarphen came to America in 1746 with his three sons James,
Robert & John and they settled in the James River District of Virginia.
It was said that Robert Sr. was a surgeon at the battle of Culloden in
1745.

Scottish
Tartans:
There is no clan tartan for the name Corstorphine, they however can wear
a district tartan which is the Edinburgh District tartan, of which there
are several versions. The family of Corstarphin
were allies/belonged to the clan Forrester so they are also allowed to
wear the Forrester tartan. I have been informed
by the Scottish Tartans Society that the Fife
District tartan would be also appropriate to wear, which is shown
on the border.
