A Memorial of the last will and testament of Thomas Bernard late of Clonmulske in the County of Catherlough Esq. bearing date and published the Twenty Fifth day of February one thousand seven hundred and twenty Whereby among other things he bequeathed unto his dearly beloved wife Debora Bernard the yearly rents accruing out of the towne and lands of Ballypicas and Clarbarracun in the Queen�s County as they are xxxxx set during her natural life he likewise bequeathed unto his said wife her own chamber in the house in Clonmulske aforesaid also the liberty of the kitchen of the said house with a stable therein belonging The said Thomas Bernard did by the said will devise and bequeath to his brothers Joseph Bunbury and Phillip Bernard Esqs. All and singular the town and lands of Drumselig Ballyglishin and that part of Ballypicas with the avenue goes through to the grove on both sides thereof containing by estimation four acres and a half together with two acres of the ten acres of Derrifore Bogg which lyeth next to Colonel Blandis ten acres which were given the said testator by Thomas Vigors Esq. with liberty of drawing the turf which shall be cut or dug thereon with Carv [sic] Carts or other carriages through the lands of Ballypicas aforesaid all situate in the Queens Co to hold unto the said Joseph Bunbury and Phillip Bernard and their heirs and the heirs of the survivor of them to the use and behoof of the eldest son Charles Bernard he first quitting possession of the lands of Ballybar in the County of Catherlough and paying and discharging all rent and arrears xxxxx then due thereof to his third son Joseph Bernard for and during the term of his natural life with several remainder over The said Testator did further by the said will bequeath unto his son Charles Bernard among other things his interest in and to the farm of Bellelogh in the said Queen�s County and the said testator did further by the said will bequeath unto his brothers the said Joseph Bunbury and Phillip Bernard all and singular that part of the estate in Queen�s County called Clarbarracum and eight acres of Bolybegg joining thereunto as enjoyed by Henry Dungan subject to the payment of twenty one pounds per annum to his said wife during her life to hold unto the said Joseph Bunbury and Phillip Bernard and their heirs and the heirs of the survivor of them to the use of his second son Franks Bernard during his natural life with several remainder over The said Testator did further by the said will bequeath unto his said son Franks all and singular his right title and interest in and to the lands of Clonmulske in the county of Catherlough he allowing unto his said wife as before is bequeathed to her while she shall think fit to live there The said Testator did further by the said will bequeath to his brothers Joseph Bunbury and Phillip Bernard all and singular that part of his estate in the Queen�s County called Ballypicas which is now in lease to Redmond and Daniel Phelan with the ten acres of Derrifore Bogg which was given the said testator by Thomas Vigors Esq. except what was before reversed to his elder son Charles to hold unto the said Jospeh Bunbury and Phillip Bernard and their heirs and heirs of the survivor of them to the use and behoof of his third son Joseph Bernard the paying unto his wife the yearly rent which is now accruing thereof during her natural life and during the natural life of the said Joseph with several remainders over The said testator further by the said will bequeaths unto his third son Joseph and his heirs all and singular his right title and interest in and to the lands of Ballybar in the County of Catherlough with the lease thereof which was reversed by the said will from the said Charles Bernard and the said testator did by his said will order and require that the said Lands of Clarbarracum and Ballypicas devised to his two sons Franks and Joseph shall be liable and subject to the sum of Five Hundred pounds after the decease of his said wife bequeathed by the said will to his daughter Ann Bernard and the said testator did by the valid will leave and bequeath all and singular the part and residue of his goods and chattels debts and credits of all kinds forever which are not disposed of by the said will unto his two sons Franks Bernard and Joseph Bernard to be equally divided between them and did appoint them joint executors of the said will which said will is witnessed by William Nesbitt of Catherlough Clerk Thomas Doyle of Garryhun in the Country of Catherlough Mason and Bartholomew Newton of Bushellstowne in the same county Gent.

Robert Wallis of the city of Dublin Publick Notary maketh oath that he is a subscribing witness to the above Memorial and said the same signed and sealed by the above Franks Bernard and Joseph Bernard and that the Memorial was delivered to William Parry Dep. Reg. on the 19th day of May 1721 at or near half an hour after eleven o�Clock in the forenoon.
[Note: Thomas Bernard refers to Joseph Bunbury as his brother. Thomas Bernard was the son of Charles Bernard and Elizabeth (a.k.a. Mary) Bernard. Upon the death of Charles Bernard, Elizabeth married Benjamin Bunbury and they had five sons and a daughter. Joseph Bunbury was therefore the half brother of Thomas Bernard.]
