                               This book was published in 1977 by a devoted group of volunteers

                                who for over 3 years walked the cemeteries in Anoka County and wrote

                                down the headstone and monument inscriptions of individual interred.

                                There dedication is a tribute to the families who made Anoka, Mn their home.

 

                           "Anoka County Cemeteries 2000 update" cemeteries are available on 

                                      CD Rom  This update includes everyone known by church or cemetery record to be

                                       buried in the following cemeteries.  The CD also contains photographs

                                       of all headstones found in the cemetery.   To Order   a CD.

                                        ....The epitaph for a child who died in 1874 speaks to the living in a most charming manner,

                                                        "Step softly stranger for our darling is sleeping here."  It is a fitting message for one

                                                        visiting his city- the notice of a child loved beyond death.

                                                    ....In turn, Joseph Adams is philosophical and his spirit of confidence is projected in the

                                                        message on his "signpost,"  "My years are full, I have been happy on the earth and as

                                                        I have been conscious of an existence, I shall be conscious of an existence hereafter.

                                                        The spirit never dies."

                                                       

                                                         Are these truly Silent Cities?  I think not.
