    Doris M. Scroggins, 71, of 2835 Basswood Drive, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at her residence.

    She was born May 28, 1931, in Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Edna James Brinson. She retired from Reliance Electric Co. after many years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hanover chapter No. 525; and a longtime member of the Manville Christian Church.

    Surviving are her husband, Grover Scroggins Jr; two daughters, Brenda Robbins and Daffney Rowlett, both of Madison; two sons, Gerald Scroggins and Loren Skip Scroggins, both of Madison; two sisters, Remonia Potter and Janet Thompson, both of Madison; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Beverly Jacobs and Mary Scroggins; two sons, Allan and Curtis Scroggins; three brothers, James, John and Robert Brinson; one sister, Betty Smith; and one grandson.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lytle-Gans Funeral Home, with burial in the Caledonia Cemetery.

    Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

    The Order of the Eastern Star, Hanover chapter No. 525 will hold memorial services at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Manville Christian Church. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.10

    Grover Scroggins Jr., 75, of 2835 Basswood Drive died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his home.

    He was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Grant County, Ky., the son of Grover C. Sr. and Mammie Brandon Scroggins. He retired in 1989 after 43 years of service at the Jefferson Proving Ground, with his final position being supervisor of the roads and grounds. He was also sales and service manager for the Madison Marina for several years.

    He was a member of Hanover Lodge No. 652, F. & A.M; the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9; the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765; the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1969; and the Madison-Jefferson County Senior Citizens Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Manville Christian Church.

    Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Robbins and Daffney Rowlett, and two sons, Gerald Scroggins and Loren Skip Scroggins, all of Madison; two sisters, Violet Jones of Jeffersonville and Mary Adams of Madison; one brother, Russell Scroggins of Madison; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris M. Scroggins; two daughters, Beverly Jacobs and Mary Scroggins; two sons, Allan and Curtis Scroggins; and two brothers, Harold Jake and Raymond L. Scroggins.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lytle-Gans Funeral Home, with burial in Caledonia Cemetery.

    Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Military graveside services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted by the Hanover Lodge No. 652, F. & A.M., at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Manville Christian Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
