Helen M. Scroggins, 77, died at 6:06 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Alton to Harry and Mary Warren Bell.
She married Joe H. Scroggins on Dec. 4, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. He survives.
She was an accounting clerk at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for 15 years, retiring in 1981.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Joe Scroggins Jr. and John E. Scroggins, both of Wood River, and David Scroggins of Clermont, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Sean, Katelyn and Amy Scroggins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
There will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or Operation Blessing.
