Richard WEEDEN was born in St John's Horsleydown, Surrey on 15th August 1892 to Joseph and Helena (née MIMMS).

In 1901 he was at home in Bermondsey. In 1911 he was 18, and working as a brass cleaner for the LCC Tramway.

Richard went to school in Bermondsey, leaving in 1906 and got his first job as a dispatch clerk at the Civil Service Co-operative Society Ltd in the Haymarket, London.

He spent the last few months of his life in St. James' Hospital in Lynn, following two strokes, and died on 23rd May 1974. He was cremated at St. Faith's, Norwich.

Emma CHAPMAN was born in Stow Bardolph, Norfolk on 15th July 1891 to Robert and Eliza (née CATCHPOLE).

Emma went to school in Wimbotshamwalking each day from her home in Stow Bardolph. In 1901, she was at home in Stow Bardolph. She moved down to London in her teens to work in a cafe/shop. In 1911 she was 19 and an assistant in a confectioners' shop.(owned by her cousin? Griffith Cleaver JONES and wife Laura)

After Richard died in 1974, she kept her independence, living alone in her bungalow in Hunstanton, visiting her daughter Joan most weekends,

She died on 6th January 1982 in Hunstanton, and was cremated at Mintlyn, King's Lynn.

married

on 28 Feb 1915

at St. Anne's Church Bermondsey, Surrey.

Witnesses were Frank Ernest Wright and Lilian L.A. Weeden.

They remained in Bermondsey, where Ray and Joan were born, until September 1938.

War was approaching and they decided to move out of London. Emma had also apparently made Richard promise, as a condition of marriage, that they would return to her birth county of Norfolk. They rented the Chalet, Priory Rd, Downham Market. During the war Richard was Food Inspector for Downham and Billeting officer for evacuees. Post-war he was co-owner of Willows Potato Crisps.

In subsequent years they lived in Wisbech, St Ives, and Hunstanton.

They had just two children.
 ray  Ray was born in October 1919. He worked for the prison service. He married Vera. Ray died in the Spring of 2011.
 joan  Joan was born on 12th December 1922. She died in July 2001.
