RAKAIA

 

The RAKAIA departed London on 8 December, 1898 and arrived in Wellington, via Capetown and Hobart, on 2 February, 1899. Captain Sutcliffe was in command.

The Rakaia landed 11 passengers at Hobart, and has the following for New Zealand ports:- Mesdames Openshaw, Prideant, Lawrence and child, Neill, Richmond and 3 children. Langevad and 5 children, Silcocks, Rev Price, Messrs Neill, Richmond, Lawrence, Robb, Irwin, Dastan, Watson, Christianson, Silcocks, Brake, Moore, Hoeben, Hall (the two latter from Hobart and Capetown respectively).
