Jan. 17 "the news is overtown that Bannister has ran away and the store is closed this evening"
Jan. 18 "Banister has not returned and the store is in the hands of the Undersherriff"
Jan. 29 funeral of Mrs. Milo A. Driggs
Jan. 31 Presbyterian church election--elected as elders Stone and Thompson. Thompson declined because he did not believe in the confession of faith. Jim Hall and Douglas elected deacons.
Feb. 12 news received of Mrs. Faber's death in Lockport NY [wife of former pastor]
Feb. 14 Westfield paper stated that H. W. Thompson & Laura Skinner went to the funeral of Mrs. Faber
Mar. 7 Mrs. Tinker died
Mar. 15 William Thompson from the west was visiting
May 13 big frost, many grape vineyards ruined
May 15 Mrs. Murphy had a son
June 12 Mr. S. V. R. Wells shot himself in his room last night. He slept in a room over a shoe store. Found by his daughter who went in to see why he didn't come to breakfast.
