Maxine's Obituary:

"Maxine Melissa (Parks) Hoover, 77, was born October 9, 1928 in Robertsdale, PA., the daughter of Harry F. and Veta J. Ramsey Parks. She was raised and educated in Robertsdale, PA., and graduated from the Robertsdale High School in 1947. Following her graduation she traveled to Iowa for a two week vacation at the home of Uncle Joe and Aunt Althea Ward of Cedar, and remained in Iowa. She enrolled in the Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa in 1950. Maxine then worked at Kenmare Manufacturing in Ottumwa from 1950 until 1957. She was united in marriage to Francis Hoover in Cedar, Iowa, March 26th, 1955, they later divorced.

"Maxine was a devoted mother to her children providing them with much love. In 1977 she began doing housekeeping service. She provided day care for Kim and J.D. Koogler, whom she loved as grandchildren. She enjoyed her church, yard work, gardening, flowers, and most importantly the care and love she gave unconditionally to her children and grandchildren. Maxine was a passionate member of the Church of the Nazarene.

"Those left to honor her memory include her three daughters, Living Wheeler of Oskaloosa, Living McKay of Fremont, and Living Almon of Oskaloosa. Two sisters; an identical twin, Living Darland of Hiawatha, IA., and Living Decker of Pittsburgh, PA., two brothers; Living Parks of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Living Parks of Coraopolis, PA., nine grandchildren, Living Whipple, Living, Living, and Living Wheeler, Living, Living, Living, Living, and Living McKay, many cousins, nieces and nephews. A son Jeff Hoover, her parents, a brother Bernard Parks, two sisters; Eva Swope and Winifred (Sis) Ramper preceded Maxine in death."

Maxine Hoover had a stroke on Monday, July 31, 2006. After a week in the hospital she went home to be with her Maker on Sunday, August 6, at 11:50 AM.
