Lemuel & Elizabeth (Roush) Steward
Very little is known about Lemuel Steward (the second). He was born in Elk Creek, Erie County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of
Lemuel Steward (the first) and Rebecca Rose.
Lemuel was a farmer, and also a cabinet maker. Among the thing he made
was a Combination desk and book case made from wild cherry wood, which
he presented to Justus H. Steward and his wife Amanda Main on as a
wedding gift, requesting it be handed down from each generation to the
youngest Steward bearing the Steward name. It is in good condition
after 110 years of constant use, and at the present time it is believed
to be in the possession of I. Clarence Steward who lives in Grenola,
Kansas.
