Someone asked about Line Creek Cemetery. I suspect that is the one in northern Caddo Parish near Ida, Louisiana. Magees, Bickhams Bankstons (and probably others) migrated from Washington Parish to that corner of the ArkLaTex.

Haw Pond Cemetery
Haw Pond Cemetery is at Stateline, MS per c. 2000 obit. That's why I've never heard of it -- it is located in Mississippi.

Lucious Crain Cemetery
Louis Crain Cemetery is noted to be within one mile of Lucious Crain Cemetery. There are other Crain cemeteries near State Line that are not listed on the LA Gen Web USGenWeb site: http://theusgenweb.org/la/washington/cemetery.htm Many of these cemeteries have transcriptions online, but are not linked on this page.

Grimes
My family arrived in Louisiana from England in October 1873 and lived in Washington Parish for at least 3 and as many as 5 years. My Great great grandmother was born in Washington Parish but I don't know where exactly. The family arrived with some elderly grandparents for whom I can find no records. There is a potential that they died in in Washington Parish, Louisiana. From what I can tell, records were not kept at that time by anything other than the churches. I have no idea what church they would have belonged to but they were married in the Church of England church back in England so I would assume one of the Protestant churchs. I'm hopeful that they may appear in one of the cemeteries. Anyways I'm seeking: Osborn Grimes b. 1809 Ingoldisthorpe, Norfolk, UK and/or Phoebe Medlar Grimes b. 1816 Shernborne, Norfolk, UK Both would have lived in Washington Parish before potentially moving on to Kansas unless they did indeed die in Louisiana. Thanks

Hello! I am trying to complete my family history and have hit a road block. I have found my ancestors. with last names Calhoun and Peters. first names "John" Dougal Calhoun married to Mary or polly Peters. Her Dad is Nathaniel Peters. All lived in lees creek Washington in the 1800's and maybe before that. I am positive they had to be buried there. Finding their graves would be a huge break through and would maybe make it possible to find their parents. Does anyone know where they could have been buried back then? which cemeteries are that old? please let me know any information will be helpful. I am desperate and wish I could get over there. I live in AZ though. Thanks for your time.
