Zebedee Hammond was born 13 April 1753 No. Yarmouth, Maine, son of John Hammond
and Patience Webber. He married Martha Bennett in 1774 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
She was the daughter of Jonathan Bennett and his wife Martha?.
Zebedee was part of the group known as the Penobscot Loyalists who settled in Castine, Maine, initially. He appears to have lived the remainder of his life in Charlotte County, New Brunswick after receiving a grant there in 1784. He died in 1802. Very little is known about what happened to the rest of his family after that. We only know that his daughter, Abigail, married Joseph Daley and settled in Saint John County, New Brunswick sometime around 1802.
