Rutz Homepage

Welcome to the Rutz Family Homepage

This page is dedicated to the relatives of Glenn and Lori (Martin) Rutz and is mainly structured towards our family history.

Our immigrant Rutz ancestor was Heinrich Rutz. He was born 23 January 1823 in Buchs, St. Gallen, Switzerland and was married to Elsbeth Muntener on 26 November 1844. The family immigrated to the United States in 1865. They sailed from Antwerp, Belgium aboard the ship "Wilberforce" and arrived in New York on 5 June 1865.

From there, the family moved to Fond du Lac county Wisconsin and then finally settling to Dickinson county Kansas about 1872. That is where we began, and now we are as many as the leaves on the trees, scattered all over this great country.

Many of our ancestors served their country during times of war, plus we also have a Mayflower connection. To learn more about our ancestry, check out our index of over 1,000 names and click on the name of your choice to view a pedigree chart.

This is my first attempt at a web page and I would like to see it grow. I am always looking for new "cuzzins" so please let me hear from you if you have information pertaining to any of my surnames. Lastly, I do not guarantee the accuracy of the information contained within. I am only human, and therefore am prone to mistakes. If you disagree with anything please let me know so that corrections can be made.
